Friends, Romans, Bob Dylan fans lend me your ears: To celebrate the release of Todd Haynes' Dylan-inspired I'm Not There, New York's Beacon Theatre is hosting an amazing line-up of famous Dylan fans doing the Dylan. One night only, of course, November 7.

Variety's got a story about the wide-ranging Venice film fest reactions to Todd Haynes' Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There, in which Richard Gere favorably compares the singer to Picasso.
Most of the audience seemed thrilled, while others left before the ending of the "complex" film.
Why are fest-goers aways so eager to walk out of films? Remember when the Cannes crowd totally Freaked Out over "Pulp Fiction"? People were fainting and heckling the screen and everything. Don't these people ever watch movies in their normal lives?

The so-called Million Dollar Bashers was assembled by Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and also features SY's Steve Shelley on drums, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline (all better!), Beck guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboardist John Medeski (as in "...Martin and Wood") and Dylan bassist Tony Garnier.
