Coachella 2008 wrap-up

Another Coachella has come and gone. They grow up so fast, don't they? Prince really, really was the winner there. Roger Waters and Jack Johnson -- not so much. Other kick-ass performances: St. Vincent, Gogol Bordello, Black Mountain, The Breeders, Holy Fuck. Some crummy let-downs: Kraftwerk, Kid Sister, Battles, Duffy, Death Cab For Cutie, Spank Rock, Stephen Malkmus. Some surprises: Love and Rockets, Does it Offend You Yeah?, The Verve... and Portishead was good, just a little too long and slow. Unfortunately missed: The Teenagers, Akron/Family, Fatboy Slim, Hot Chip, Kate Nash, Raconteurs, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, many more.

Aphex Twin, Goldfrapp, Redd Kross join Coachella

The Scenestar is reporting that some pretty sweet acts have been added to the Coachella lineup. Survey says: Aphex Twin, Goldfrapp, Adele, Redd Kross and Serj Tankian.

Kate Nash heading to Coachella

Perhaps it as inevitable: Buzzy Brit babe Kate Nash has been officially added to the Coachella lineup in April. Sweet. Look for her on Saturday. Well, look for her to perform on Saturday. You can look for her every other day too, just keep your distance.

As for the New Jersey fest being created by the Coachella promoters, it now has a name (All Points West Fest) and a website. Rumormill is saying Radiohead. This fest is not to be confused with this one, from the creators of bonnaroo and Glastonbury.

Raconteurs, Roger Waters at Coachella?

So, the wait is sort-of over. It'll be made official later today: They say you can stream the live press announcement -- most likely en Espanol, as the announcement is being made in Mexico City -- here at 3 pm Pacific (just click on "en vivo" to stream -- Cool! You can learn how to say "Raconteurs" in Spanish). Yesterday, a "leaked" (and now "missing") L.A. Times article confirmed a few more big names for California's mega-fest Coachella: The Raconteurs, Rilo Kiley, My Morning Jacket (yess!!!) and, um, Jack Johnson. The singer, not the boxer, nor the Miles Davis album, although either one of those would be way better than the dopey surfer guy.

Peeps are also saying that Roger Waters is in too. Doodz, why not just do a whole Pink Floyd reunion? THAT would be truly amazing (even for non-fans), not Waters doing Dark Side in Southern California for the third time in two years.

And remember the NY-area fest that the Coachella doodz are promoting in August? Word has it that the Radioheads will headline that shindig. Dig it.
