Led Zeppelin members jam with Foo Fighters in London

Even though the Foo Fighters are pretty lame, it's hard to dislike Dave Grohl. After all, he's displayed his unfiltered, unrivalled love of rock countless times -- by sitting in with legends like Tom Petty, filling in on drums for Queens of the Stone Age and teaming with all of his favorite '80s underground metal icons for his Probot side project. The Foos were hand-picked to open for the Police last year. Plus, there was that whole Nirvana thing.

And last night in England, the Foos were joined onstage by half of Led Zep. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones played "Ramble On" and "Rock and Roll" with the Foos in front pf 86,000 peeps at Wembly Stadium (Robert Plant was touring the U.S., John Bonham is still, sadly, dead). Grohl played drums on "Rock and Roll". It was surely a dream come true for the Grohl.

So, the question of the day is when the frak is Led Zeppelin gonna announce a real reunion tour?

More importantly, who knew that 86,000 (!) people would show up to see the Foo Fighters -- in 2008 no less?

Tweedy, Albini, Deals team with Second City

The famed Second City improv troupe continue their awesome holiday tradition by inviting musical luminaries from Chicago and beyond to take part in the sixth annual improv extravaganza "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa." This year's edition will include performances by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, Mekons' Sally Timms and Jon Langford, Will Oldham, Robbie Fulks, legendary producer/Shellac singer Steve Albini and, best of all, The Deal Sisters (as in Kim and Kelly from the Breeders)!!!

They'll be performing music of course, but some may jump in on the clownin'. Jeff Tweedy is one of the funniest live performers I've ever seen. Seriously. Watch his concert film Sunken Treasure for proof. Also, for the past three years, Tweedy has used this event to auction off his talents (musical talents, sicko) for charity. Tweedy went to the winner's house and played an intimate acoustic set. Seriously. Click here for proof. Why do you need all this evidence? Can't you just take me at my word? She was already dead!

Bruce Arcade Springsteen Fire -- Live!

That's what I'm talkin' about: Arcade Fire added another member to their lineup last night in Ottawa -- frakkin' Bruce Springsteen!!!
The band joined the Boss onstage for his "State Trooper," (apparently the first time the E Street Band's performed it since 1984!) and their own Springsteen-esque "Keep the Car Running".
Wow!

David Bowie meeting Dr. Who

David Bowie will appear in two upcoming episodes of the BBC’s "Dr. Who." Bowie will play an evil alien (Ziggy Stardust?) who attempts to abduct mystery writer Agatha Christie (!).

Danger Mouse teaming with Black Keys

In-demand Producer/DJ Danger Mouse is keeping busy as hell. Besides meeting up with Cee-Lo to record a new Gnarls Barkley album down in Hotlanta, DM is producing The Black Keys' untitled fourth album, to be released sometime in 2008.

He also has recently wrapped up Martina Topley-Bird's new album, 'The Blue God', also slated fot the ‘08.

It’s unknown whether Danger Mouse and MF Doom will be collaborating on another DangerDoom full-length, but we can hope.

Lou Reed joins The Killers in the studio

Guess who's collabing with The Killers? Yep, Lou Reed (yeah, that Lou Reed). The man, the legend will lend his vocals to a track on the group's upcoming B-sides and rarities album (already?).

Killer Brandon Flowers goes on to say that they're already working in a NYC studio recording 'Tranquilize' with Flood and Alan Moulder (who co-produced the Killers' Sam's Town).
