Free Charlatans, mmkay?

Even if you could NEVER afford to buy a CD AND you had some weird moral fiber preventing you from stealing music, you'd still have a decent collection, thanks to bands giving their music away. Bands like Radiohead, Okkervil River, Atmosphere, Saul Williams, Tim Fite and now The Charlatans.

The British lads are giving away free downloads of You Cross My Path -- their 10th studio album -- on March 3rd. Available on their web site.

Record stores are also giving away Beatles CDs. You just have to remove the little magnetic strips, put the CD in your pocket and casually walk out the door. Just wear a big coat and make sure no one's looking. Just kidding, Beatles!

Whut?! The New FREE Atmosphere Album

Et tu, Atmosphere? The MPLS hip-hop duo has gone ahead and sorta left a new full-length album out on their website for you to download for FREE. Like Radiohead! Or Okervill River! It's called Strictly Leakage and its got 13 tunes!

Atmosphere just released the Sad Clown Bad Winter EP and yet another new album, when life gives you lemons, you paint that shit gold, will be released in April. Jeez, slow down.

Belle & Sebastian ask "Are You Coming Over For Christmas"

The Glasgow group deliver a holiday goodie for all -- a tune called “Are You Coming Over For Christmas.”

Download the track for free via the Belle & Sebastian site or their MySpace page -- available for 24 hours only -- from midnight on Christmas eve until midnight on Christmas night.
